Assassination of the Russian ambassador and the suicide attack in Germany

Image
Two horrific incidents will have a significant impact in the coming period. The first is the assassination of the Russian ambassador (Andrei Karlov) in Turkey a few hours ago. The second is the truck attack on a tourist gathering in a market in the German capital of Berlin just minutes ago, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 9 people immediately and more than 50 injured. The first incident involved a young police officer in the Turkish civil service (rumored to be radicalized) named Melvut Mert Altintas, aged 22, who fired eight shots at the Russian ambassador. Three of them struck him while standing and five more after he fell. He died upon arrival at the hospital. The young officer shouted supportive phrases for the people of Aleppo, such as "God is great... This is for Aleppo... Do not forget Aleppo... Do not forget Syria... If our country is not safe, you will not taste security either... Everyone involved in this injustice will pay the price." He also invoked

Summary of the Aleppo crisis

Image
Aleppo is considered the largest city in Syria, covering an area of 190 km2, located in the north near the Turkish border. In comparison, the capital Damascus covers only 105 km2 and is located in the south near the Lebanese border. Before the Syrian war, Aleppo was the commercial capital of Syria, with a population of 5.1 million compared to Damascus's population of 1.9 million. Aleppo is one of the oldest cities in human history, with reports suggesting civilizations dating back 5000 years before Christ. The city is known for its ethnic diversity, including Arabs, Circassians, Turks, Kurds, Armenians, among others. Aleppo became the focal point of the Syrian war and was labeled by many international media outlets as the "mother of Syrian battles" and "Stalingrad of Syria" due to the massive military efforts there. The catastrophic losses in Aleppo are difficult to quantify due to the lack of neutral parties. However, it's known that the death toll in Alepp

The Sukari Gold Mine

Image
The Sukari Gold Mine is frequently in the news for the transport of gold shipments from Egypt to Canada for purification and sale in the London gold market. The latest report mentioned a shipment of 322 kilograms of gold1. Egypt has 130 areas rich in gold, according to the oldest geological map known as the “Map of the Fawakhir”. Currently named the “Turin Papyrus Map”, it is displayed in the Museum of Ancient Egypt in Turin, Italy. The map was drawn on papyrus around 1200 BC during the reign of King Seti I. Later, a total of 270 locations were discovered across Egypt2. Modern gold mining in Egypt began in 1903 with the first contract for mining exploitation by the “Egyptian Exploration Company”. Subsequent contracts were signed with “United Nile Valley” in 1905 and “Egypt and Sudan” in 1906. Despite their Egyptian names, these companies were predominantly under British control. The Sukari Mountain emerged as the largest gold reserve known to Egyptians. In 1938, the Egyptian government

Turkey's downing of the Russian plane

In the aftermath of the French terrorist attack, I said to whoever is still waking up rubbing their eyes to wake up, and to wake up the person next to them, because the situation is really big and wrong on all fronts 😃... Let's start, in the name of God. Today, at seven in the morning, the residents of the Turkmen Mountains in the countryside of Latakia, northern Syria, witnessed a Russian warplane of the (SU-24) model - like the picture - falling on them. They saw both pilots parachuting out, so shouts of joy and celebration filled the area, especially since Russian airstrikes don't differentiate between civilian and non-civilian areas, especially if they know that ISIS is present. ISIS is present in civilian areas, not like terrorists in the past, so everyone dies from any airstrike. Shortly after, Omar Al-Jablawi, the spokesman for the Syrian Revolutionary Gathering, said that they captured one of them and killed him, and his body is with us, and we are searching for the ot

The secret behind the protests of the Nubian people

Image
Nubians recently gathered and traveled across more than 44 Nubian villages in a campaign to prevent the sale of their lands at public auction. They managed to mobilize many villagers and blocked the railway from Cairo to Aswan at Daraw Center. They also blocked the international road at Abu Simbel and in front of Al-Kurur village. The police fired at them, resulting in two young Nubian men being shot. Additionally, there was a political escalation led by Mohammed Azmi, the head of the Nubian Union, supported by several members of Parliament and the governor of Aswan. They held a comprehensive meeting with all Nubian tribe leaders to discuss strategies against the Egyptian government's decision to include their land in a new farming project called "the million and a half acres". This project, announced by President Sisi in early 2014, aimed to expand agricultural land to increase crops and achieve food self-sufficiency. However, the project plan unexpectedly included large

ISIS World!

Image
Anyone who abandoned his loyalty to the media and started promoting ISIS focuses on what's coming next, so they'll be a couple of steps behind. After America ousted Saddam from Iraq, they targeted all his followers, like the Sunni Muslims (half the population), replacing them with Shiites and Kurds in power. The ruling Baath Party, which comprised senior leaders of the Iraqi army, was also reshaped. The same army that was once one of the strongest in the Arab world, rumored to be the mightiest at the time. Here, Al-Qaeda, led by Osama bin Laden, called on all countries to join his cause. They sent him the first recruit, named Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who was infamous for beheading Americans, Shiites, and anyone aiding the US invasion of Iraq. He began coordinating with tribes to fight Americans, forming a large group of killers called the "Base of Jihad in Mesopotamia." But due to his atrocities, people distanced themselves, and America eventually captured him. Then came

What happened to the Egyptian pound?

Image
The Egyptian pound has been floated, and today’s bank rate for the dollar is 13 EGP, following the Central Bank’s decision to liberalize the exchange rate1. In the black market, it has reached 13.75 EGP1. This comes after a period when the dollar had reached 18.25 EGP in just one week1. The current official rate under President Sisi is three times what it was under Mubarak and twice what it was under Morsi1, despite previous promises of its decline below ten pounds. There have been no significant foreign investments or loans entering the country recently1. The government’s dollar reserves are at their lowest, and the black market has been supplying dollars to investors and traders, causing prices to soar1. After an urgent meeting on October 22, which included President Sisi, the Governor of the Central Bank, and several ministers, no new decisions were announced, and the dollar rate remained at 8.88 EGP in banks2. However, there was speculation about secret decisions being made2. Subse

Türkiye coup

Image
What happened? Movements for a military coup started on Friday, July 15, 2016. However, the first announcement was made at 11:30 PM by the Prime Minister. He informed the people that it was a failed attempt despite tanks filling the streets. Several airports, including the capital's airport, were closed. The presidential palace, the ruling Justice and Development Party headquarters, the capital's security directorate, the television building where the coup statement was broadcasted, and the parliament building were besieged. The parliament building was bombed by aircraft, intelligence buildings were targeted, roads and bridges leading to the capital were closed, and rebel army units were deployed across the country with heavy equipment (tanks, armored vehicles, helicopters). Who staged the coup? According to CNN Turk, the coup was led by the Sufi Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, who resides in Pennsylvania, USA. The UK leaving the European Union

Image
Why is everyone so worked up about the UK leaving the European Union? Let's try to understand together. In short, the UK held a referendum on whether to remain in or leave the EU. Yesterday, the results came in with 51.9% in favor of leaving, despite many domestic and international expectations leaning towards staying. So, what's the European Union? It's a European international entity based in Brussels, consisting of 28 countries. It was established in 1992 by the Maastricht Treaty with the goal of unifying the visions of European countries on various issues, political, economic, and more. But here's the thing: what you might not know is that this unity isn't fully achieved on the ground. Each country grants the EU a set of powers according to its own public policy. For example, some countries use their local currency alongside the Euro, while others have stronger currencies and maintain their own. There are also disputes between member states and the EU itself on

Invalidation of the Tiran and Sanafir Agreement!

Image
For those who don’t understand where the world is heading with the Tiran and Sanafir issue and what today’s court ruling of invalidation leads to, splash some water on your face and wake up because things are more complicated than they seem. Let’s briefly go back to the beginning of the story… On April 8, 2016, without any warning, an agreement was signed between [President] Sisi and [King] Salman acknowledging that the two islands (Tiran and Sanafir) are Saudi. On April 13, 2016, Sisi addressed the press saying, “I don’t want anyone to reopen the discussion about Tiran and Sanafir,” following significant uproar and concern against the agreement on social media. On April 15, 2016, most of the Egyptian opposition forces, along with a large group of human rights activists, protested across Egypt’s governorates against the agreement, calling the day “The Land is the Honor.” The largest gathering was in front of the Journalists Syndicate, where [lawyer] Khaled Ali pleaded with them to disp

The German economic experiment

Image
Hitler brought a new spirit to the German people during the Nazi era, filled with pride and arrogance after the bitterness of a long defeat resulting from his defeat in World War I. To the extent that the German citizen believed he was a unique race above humans, and everyone should submit to him and remain under his command. This is according to Hitler himself. Germany, under the leadership of one man, except for Mander, supported Hitler in World War II and excelled in various sciences, technologies, and civilizational progress (industry, especially military, agriculture, medicine, etc.). The world then saw Germany as the greatest example of development and progress until Hitler's colonial ambitions prevailed, wanting to dominate the world with the German people. But after the Allies formed against him and his bitter defeat in the war, Germany fell into ruin. Germany was divided among the alliance countries. Eastern Germany belonged to the Soviet Union, and Western Germany belonge

The Clinton Economic Experiment

Image
One of the periods where America's debts increased and its economy suffered was during the era of George Bush Sr. and George Bush Jr. The treatment during this period was like magic under Clinton, which was characterized as the "American Golden Age." In short, when George Bush Sr. won the presidency, he stumbled and couldn't believe it himself. He tried various failed economic policies, costing America $2.2 trillion in debt! His popularity plummeted, with American opinion polls indicating only a 22% approval rating. He panicked and thought, "What should I do, oh father of bushels? Oh, yes, start a world war! Participate in the war and bear its costs, O blissful one!" There were leaked documents revealing that George Bush Sr. sent the American ambassador, Ariel Glaspie, to former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, saying, "Kuwait, this small country, is playing with Iraq's economy, the big country, and this manipulation will cause a major collapse in Ir

The Tiran and Sanafir islands

Image
If you don't know much about the topic, or if you're confused by opposing Facebook posts with clear bias and exaggeration, or by sensational news headlines that seem misleading, I suggest you read the following two paragraphs after a moment of reflection, hoping for clarity and understanding for both of us. "Tiran and Sanafir" are two islands at the entrance of the Gulf of Aqaba, covering an area of 113 square kilometers. They are currently uninhabited, and the Enterprise Strait runs between the Egyptian border and Tiran Island, which is a route for ships heading to Israel, Jordan, and the Egyptian border on the Gulf. Let's look into the history of these two islands to understand their background. Please be patient as I explain in detail. In the era of the Fifth Dynasty (2510 – 2460 B.C.), a king named Sahure, son of King Userkaf, sent a military campaign to discipline the local Bedouins who were raiding trade caravans coming from the Levant and Yemen.
